Classroom Programme:
Napier Intermediate comprises of 12 classrooms broken into four Houses/syndicates: Rata, Rimu, Totara, and Puriri.

ClassroomEach classroom programme is centred around the needs and interests of the children. Each term there is a school focus. The students discuss what each mean and how it applies to them within the class, school, and community. |

Digital ClassroomsAs we progress through into a digital world, Napier Intermediate is upgrading the technology to make a more interactive digital classroom. |

Interactive Whiteboard (IWB)An interactive whiteboard makes use of a board and a data projector. The students are able to use a tablet or pens on the board to write and draw straight onto the board. The IWB are used in the same ways as the classroom projectors. The children have been experimenting with the interactive whiteboard and discovering what it is capable of doing. The IWB has been used in a number of ways:

Information Communication Technology (ICT)Each classroom has three to five classroom computers where the students are able to work on during classroom time. |

Physical Education (PE)Each syndicate is allocated two PE times a week. The syndicates are able to run their PE programme according to their classroom programme. The syndicates have available astro turf, field, and hall to teach their PE programme. |

ArtsEach student participates in an arts three week cycle. They are grouped across two classes, visiting an arts class once a week for three weeks.
